

Edna O. Mielke, 95, of New Braunfels, TX (former Pasadena resident) passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. She lived a full life and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grand children.
Edna was born April 5, 1917 in Groveton, TX to Elsy and Lottie White.
After her father’s passing Edna was raised by John Murphy and mother Lottie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Loye E. White and John Murphy, Jr. Also proceeding Edna in death was husband Theodore Mielke of Pasadena, TX.
Married on June 4, 1943, Edna and Ted were married for 54 loving years.
They traveled the world together and loved spending time with friends and family.
In her younger years, Edna was employed as a nurse and she also served in the navy during World War II. Edna was very involved with the Eastern Star and was a Mother Advisor for the Pasadena Assembly #93, International Order of Rainbow for Girls. During her 36 years as an active member of Pasadena Chapter No. 711, Order of Eastern Star, Edna held many offices. She also loved to bake and sew.
She is survived by her son Rick and daughter-in-law Susan of New Braunfels, TX, grandson Ryan Mielke and wife Stephanie of Chandler, AZ, granddaughter Kara Butcher and husband Coty of New Braunfels, TX, great grand children Joshua (11), Gabriel (10), Theodore (8), Elizabeth (6), and Molly (3). Survivors also include sister Maxine Lindsay, nephew LaDon White, sister-in-law Lovie Maples, many nieces and nephews, and her loving dog Frosty.
Services will be held at Forest Park East in League City, TX on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 12:30pm. Visitation will take place before the service from 11:00-12:30.
Pallbearers are all members of the Pasadena Masonic Lodge No. 1155, AF&AM: Mike Carr, J.W. Hamilton, Jimmy Harper-Worshipful Master, John Hinojosa, Pete Lucas, and Irby White.
