Eldridge "Skipper" Stevens

Eldridge Gibbens “Skipper” Stevens, 86, of Dickinson, Texas passed away on August 21, 2022. Skipper was born on December 30, 1935, in Mineola, Texas to Eldridge Gibbens Sr. and Audrey Beatrice Stevens.

Skipper worked as a traveling salesman until he joined forces with his dad to run their family business, Sego WeatherMatic.

Skipper had a passion for life, he loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed taking his family camping, cruising, and making annual trips to the beach house. He was particularly fond of trips to the casinos with his wife and friends. Throughout his life, Skipper had a deep bond with his many dogs. He enjoyed his visits with his puppies, Riki and Roki and having them join him for naps.

Skipper joined the Executive Hunting Club in 1975 as the first member after the Club was formed and spent many years involved in club activities and attending numerous EHC trips. He was a true supporter of the Club’s motto, "We promote Wild Life".

Skipper was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn Elise Stevens, his parents and his son, John Mark Stevens.

Skipper is survived by his daughters Karen Oswald & husband Art Oswald of Friendswood and Lisa Lazenberry & husband Hugh Lazenberry also of Friendswood; grandchildren, Amanda Oswald & fiancé, Reagan Reed, Collin Oswald, Hugh Jr, Steven, & Lauren Lazenberry and Alyssa & Casey Rollins; great-grandchildren Ella, Callie & Scarlett Rollins and Whitley Reed.

A funeral service for Skipper will be held Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. Karen and Lisa would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Morada Assisted Living in Friendswood and Essentials Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Skipper over the past year. The family would like you to join them after the service at the home of Lisa & Hugh, 1812 Sandy Lake Dr., Friendswood TX 77546.
