

Eva Jean Remmers, age 72, of Houston, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 14, 2013. She was the fifth of thirteen children, born on December 15, 1940, in Shelbyville, TX, to Clarence Hollis Green and Dovie Mae Green. She married the love of her life, Clyde M. Remmers, on August 22, 1958 in Texas City and they were blessed with 45 years together.
Eva was a kindergarten and first-grade teacher at South Shaver Baptist School; she was also a Sunday School teacher and a long-term cast member of the Caraway Street production for the Junior Church at South Shaver Baptist Church. She was an avid fan of the Houston Astros’ attending many games over the years. She loved the outdoors, counting camping and fishing as two of her favorite past-times. She had recently discovered the joy of snorkeling in the Caribbean and took her first zip-lining adventure at the age of 69.
She was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Dovie Mae Green, her beloved husband Clyde M. Remmers, her brothers Lynn Dale Green, Burl Ray Green and James ‘Buddy’ Green. She is survived by her children Eva Renea and husband Scott Meadows of Houston, TX; Barbara and husband David Luchak of Longview, TX; Debora and husband Mitchell Karlson of Roatan, Honduras; son Clyde and wife Patricia Remmers of Deer Park, TX, eight Grandchildren Tessa Barton, Michelle Kammer, Brandon Luchak, Todd Meadows, Clayton Karlson, Jeremy Luchak, Austin Richey and Andrew Remmers, four Great-Grandchildren, Erica Kammer, Preston Barton, Jackson Barton and Kaitlyn Barton, siblings Bobbie Clifton, Brenda Parker, Ted Green, Lester Green, Mary Grenier, Jerry Green, J.C. Green, Annette Green and Danny Green, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be at Forest Park East Funeral Home, Webster, TX on Sunday, February 17th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, with a service on Monday, February 18th at 12:30pm, immediately followed by a graveside service at Galveston Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX.
Eva was an amazing lady that had a positive influence on numerous people and she will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.
