Flo O’Mara Salzmann

Florence O’Mara Salzmann, 89, of La Marque Texas, passed away May 25th, 2014. She was born in Galveston, TX on July 1st, 1924. Florence was educated in Galveston Public schools. She was married to Eugene Major Salzmann on July 10th, 1943 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2013.

Florence had a passion for cooking and her family never lacked for a delicious meal. She volunteered for various organizations including Daughters of the King at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in La Marque, and Women's Auxiliary at Mainland Hospital in Texas City. She was predeceased by their

son Fred William Salzmann, a daughter Sharon K Salzmann, and a son-in-law David Johnson. She is survived by her husband Eugene Salzmann and daughters Suzan Platzer and Carol Parr, her grandchildren April Ontiveros, Travis Salzmann, Emily Platzer, Amber Corcoran, Jared Platzer, Sharon Lopez, Sean Johnson, great grandchildren Noah Ontiveros, Seth Ontiveros, Anison Lopez, Ava Lopez, Sophia Johnson, sister Vera Fowlkes and extended family Janet Bush, Neal Platzer, Tom Parr, Cesar Ontiveros, Angie Salzmann, Luke Bartel, Edward Corcoran, Bernie Lopez, Tiffany Johnson, Ashley Lopez, Erin Parr Stohlman, Robbie Stohlman, Kelly Parr, and Kasey Parr.Viewing will be held May 28th, 5:00PM - 8:00PM at Forest Park East in Webster, TX. Funeral service will be held at 1pm, May 29th 2014, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in La Marque, TX. A luncheon at the church is provided before the funeral service starting at 11:30AM. The pallbearers for the services are: Sean Johnson, Travis Salzmann, Jared Platzer, Bernie Lopez, Edward Corcoran and Luke Bartel. There will not be a procession after the service, as the family has requested a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to St. Michael’s Episcopal, noted in thanksgiving of “Daughters of The King”, or to any charitable
