October 7th 1927- November 3rd 2017
BABA as she was lovingly called by her grandchildren and others, was born in Guyana, South America on October 7, 1927. She was the only child of Frances Steinbergen and Joe De Mendonca.
Sydney Bradshaw (deceased) and Frances Veronica De Mendonca were married in 1949. This union of 67 years produced three children, Colin Arnold, Sydney Ian (deceased) and Frances Alison.
Baba worked as a staff nurse, midwife, and a radiological nurse in Guyana at PHG and Mercy Hospitals from the early 1950's to 1963. She then imigrated to the United States and was rejoined by the entire family in December of 1964. In the U.S., she continued working as a nurse until retiring.
Baba will be remembered as a kind, loving individual who extended herself lovingly to children, grandchildren, family, friends and strangers. She will also be remembered as an individual who was still working on the art of seasoning one's words. However, if you managed to get past her sometimes unbridled tongue and idioms, you were able to easily appreciate her loving qualities. Her personal love extended to many in the Brotherhood of Jehovah's Witnesses to which she was a faithful and proud member from 1958 until her death.
V as she was called by Sydney, will be fondly remembered by her children Colin Bradshaw (Gwendolyn), Alison Pree (Curtis), Theresa McAnally (spiritual daughter); grandchildren Nicole-Tiest, Angela, Michael, Raymond, Henry, Sean, Kenneth, Kameron, Aliya; great-grands Dieszyl, Lillian, Diliaha, Draiden, Zeke, Zoё, Devon, Donavon and Aiden as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and a Brotherhood of wonderful friends.
We will eagerly await the time when Jehovah calls and she answers - Job 14 :15
