Jerry Torres Jr. passed away on Monday January 18, 2021 at the age of 71. Jerry was born on January 31, 1949, in Houston, Texas to Gerardo O. Torres Sr. & Sally G. Torres. He graduated from Milby High School in 1967. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served from 1968 to 1972. He attended Houston Community College. He was then employed by the United States Postal service where he retired at the age of 55 in 2005 as an Assistant Postmaster at Bob Lyons Post Office in Galveston, Texas. After retirement, he pursued real estate and enjoyed helping many families find and purchase their dream homes. Among his accomplishments, he was recognized as a member of the real estate Million Dollar Club. Jerry had many enjoyments in life like BBQing, traveling, driving to the coast, and he never saw a western that he did not like. Jerry absolutely loved to spend time with his family. Whether it was for special occasions, or just because, he would show up with a smile, and never empty-handed. He had a passion for his family, and it showed in his life. He was a great father, but an even better Papa who would not miss any of his grandchildren’s games, birthdays, or special moments in their lives, no matter how far.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents Gerardo O. Torres and Sally G. Torres.
