Harold Lloyd Holmes, 90, born in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away October 18, 2021. Harold is preceded in death by eight siblings and his loving wife of 55 wonderful years, Juanita Thompson Holmes, who passed away October 28, 2011.
Harold is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Susie and Fred Holt, Sharon and William Privett, Carolyn and Steve Murphy. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Libby, Stacie and Sean, Jordan, Lauren, Peyton, Grayson, Emily and Jake, David, and Jonathan. Seven great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Jada, Juliana, Logan, Raimi, Teigan and John. Harold is also survived by his two sisters, Juanita Ellison and Yvonne Zonana.
Our Dad loved life, he was an eternal optimist and usually had a wonderful smile on that handsome face of his. He was a wonderful husband to our mother, their marriage was a testimony of love and devotion to each other throughout their marriage. He was a father like no other, a great friend to many, a loving brother and uncle. And being a grandfather was the light and inspiration of his later years.
He was an outdoorsman, loved flea markets and garage sales. Couldn’t get enough of his western shows, country music, and his game shows! He stayed healthy into his elder years by going on his daily walks, waving and speaking to his neighbors and passersby, smiling as he went.
He was a great example to us all and will be missed dearly. We love you.
A visitation will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, October 22, 2021 with a service to follow at 10:30 am. Services and interment will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery in Webster, Texas. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Holmes family.
