Mr. Harry R. "Ray" McLendon Jr.

Harry R. “Ray” McLendon Jr. passed away February 27, 2010 at the age of 79. Ray was born October 6, 1930 in Houston and was a lifelong Houston resident. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and a Korean War Veteran. He was the owner of Ray’s Pro Shop and a member of the Houston Bowling Hall of Fame. Ray was a member of the Glenbrook United Methodist Church. His parents Harry R. McLendon Sr. & Winona Crenshaw McLendon & son Michael McLendon preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Beverly; son Patrick & wife Dawn McLendon; 4 grandchildren Matthew & Sean Patrick McLendon and Meagan Rae & Katie McLendon; sister Sammie McLendon and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday March 1, 2010 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday March 2, 2010 at Glenbrook United Methodist Church 8635 Glen Valley Drive Houston TX 77061 with Rev. Jose Cortinas officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Windsong Village Nursing Home and Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care.
