

He was born January 11, 1931 in Angleton, Texas to Robert and Birdie (Harry) Robbins. Harry married Barbara Elaine Beaussire December 20, 1954 and she survives.
Harry graduated as part of the 1949 class of Jeff Davis High School. After high school, Harry served our country as a sergeant in the US Army until 1953. Harry then attended UH where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1957. Harry had a passion for learning which he shared with his students throughout his 32 years of teaching American History, Texas History, and occasionally Mathematics and English. He was an active parent in his sons’ Boy Scouts Troop and made it a priority to attend every game and special event to support his family’s endeavors.
Harry loved history and enjoyed visiting historical sites when traveling with his family. During many summer vacations, Harry worked as a Park Ranger for Big Bend National Park and occasionally, after retiring, at Lyndon B. Johnson State Park. A majority of his time after retirement was spent with Barbara and the Good Sam Club, traveling across the country in their RV, sightseeing and enjoying one another’s company. Harry was of Baptist faith and was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church; he was also a Master Mason of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and was an active volunteer for Special Olympics.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Robbins, one daughter Robbie Spivey, one son George Robbins, four grandsons Christopher (Christa) Spivey, Matthew (Emily) Spivey, Kody Robbins and Seann Robbins; nine great grandchildren Evan Spivey, Brant Spivey, Andrew Spivey, Keira Spivey, Kassandra Spivey, Logan Spivey, Katelyn Hemingway, Zachary Hemingway and Kyle Conn; one brother Albert Robbins, 2 sisters Nellwyn Parker and Jeraldine Tate.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Bob Robbins, one sister Ruth Donnelly and one son Paxton Robbins.
Visitation for Harry will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home. A funeral service and masonic rites will begin Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kody Robbins, Seann Robbins, Brant Spivey, Evan Spivey and Zachary Hemingway. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Robbins, Christopher Spivey, Matthew Spivey and David Morris.
