Henry Hartridge Davis, Jr of Baytown, Texas passed away on June 22, 2019. He was born in Savannah, Georgia on July 20, 1930 to Henry Hartridge Davis, Sr and Floy Smith Davis. He was married to Hazel Ruth Nelson Davis for 45 years until her passing and to Lorraine Reid for 16 years until her passing. Henry worked for Todd Shipyard and Southwest Barge. He was a member of Truth Baptist Ministries and Masonic Lodge #1353.
Henry loved talking about Navy history since he served in the Korean War in the Navy. He joined in 1948 and proudly served his country until 1952. He also loved talking about his childhood memories. He had a passion for his family, love for the Lord and his country, and Snoopy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry H. Davis, Sr and Floy Davis; Hazel Davis; Lorraine Davis; sisters Alice Futch and Gladys Carter; and brothers Cecil, Jessie, Kermit, Hiram, James, and baby Louis.
He is survived by sister Allene Butler; brother Joe Davis; daughters Denise Sievers and husband Kevin, Janene Spurgeon and husband Robert, and son Ross Davis and wife Janie; grandchildren Kim Turner, Lori Alexander (Tim), Danielle Frederick (Kevin), Tricia Henry (Troy), Mirinda Padilla (Chris), Travis Davis (Amanda), Caleb Davis (Stacey), and Trey Davis, and Alayna Sievers “Chick-a-dee”; 15 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX, 77598.
