James (Jim) Frederick Brose of Houston, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2022, at the age of 83. After several months of declining health, Jim died peacefully with his beloved wife Connie and their children by his side.
Jim was born November 21, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas, to parents Mildred and Frederick Roland Brose. He graduated with a Bachelor's in Mathematics from Wichita University. Jim and Connie met at a drive-in carhop in August of 1961 and were married on June 29, 1962. They had two beautiful children, Bradley Brose and Brenda Brose Vige.
In 1973, he and Connie moved their family to a small suburb just south of Houston formerly known as Clear Lake City, where he would begin his lifelong aerospace adventure and career with Lockheed Martin. He led a vital team that analyzed damaged pieces that came back from space flights.
Jim was known as Mr. "Fix it" for his family, friends, and neighbors. He loved the challenge of fixing anything mechanical. His favorite projects were buying vintage cars to work on. Over the years, he owned a 1969 Fiat Spider, 1971 Mustang MACH 1, 1957 Chevy, and a 1987 Corvette convertible. You could also find Papa helping his grandchildren with academics, attending baseball games, football games and countless dance recitals! He also had a love for genealogy. His persistent efforts to find our ancestry will not go unappreciated and will forever help tell the story of our family’s past to future generations. His tireless love and devotion to his family were evident in his final moments.
