It’s hard to envision a world that you don’t live in.
A day without your smile,
no sweet kiss goodnight,
no I love you said, in an embrace so tight.
We’re taught not to question
but to have faith in God’s plan and we do,
but no one taught us how to live a life
that doesn’t include you.
How do you stop the tears,
that flow from a broken heart?
When a piece of you is gone,
how do we even begin to mend that part?
We fill that void with memories,
we fill that void with love,
until we find peace through our grief
that you are smiling down on us from the heavens above.
