“Chee” and “Ph~a”, my sincere condolences to you both. I will miss my Uncle Jack. He was always great to me and he provided us endless entertainment when we were all together on the looong weekends. Such fond memories of us at the park, get-together’s at each of our parent’s homes,  Grandma Sunny’s & Grandpa Phil’s home, and the “little mansion” on West Beach. Your dad always made sure we were entertained. He taught us all how to ski behind his Boston Whaler. I remember my first time on his boat in Clear Lake. He threw the ski rope out and handed me a life jacket (surprisingly) and told me to step into the ski so that he could get it fitted to my feet. I asked him where the other ski was and he said he just had one and told me to jump in the water and don’t miss the rope when it comes by. Fortunately his co-pilot at the helm was his brother Jimmy and he fed me encouragement for the next fifteen long minutes such as “we’re not letting you back in here until you learn how to get up on that ski, and don’t miss the rope”. After many try’s, your dad “taught” me how to slalom that day. Now I know why he had me put in that life jacket. And, there was a second ski. He just had it hidden.
One other memory I’d like to share with y’all is his love for the Houston Oiler’s and hatred of the Dallas Cowboys. At the time I was the only Cowboys fan in the family and I had a Cowboys baseball cap that I put special pins in to make it even more special. One weekend we were going from Seabrook to Kemah via the old drawbridge. There were probably 6 of us in the back of pickup. We were stalled at the top waiting for the sailboats to pass. Once the drawbridge lowered and we were driving again, your Dad said “that’s a nice hat Chay” before he grabbed it off my head and just tossed it over the side of the bridge and into the water. Classic Uncle Jack. I loved him so much, regardless of how he “uncled” me 🤣
