Kathryn was the daughter of Jim Lee & Louis Pruitt. She, her twin brother Kenneth Pruitt, and sisters, Ella Buttery, Valerie Thompson & Novaline Keifer grew up in the small farming community of Lindale, TX. She graduated from Lindale High School at the age of 16 and attended Texas Christian University where she received her BSN.
It was while attending TCU that she was introduced to Albert H. Meyer of Houston, TX. Shortly after graduation in 1953 they married and moved to Houston where she started her long career as an RN. During her career Kathryn held many different positions at hospitals in the Houston & Corpus Christi areas. She specialized as an OR Nurse, served as head of OR Nursing, taught Operating Room Techniques and for many years was a private scrub nurse for an orthopedic surgeon in Corpus Christi, TX. She always joked that the she specialized in the operating room because the patients were knocked out by the time she saw them.
Kathryn & Albert had four children and worked hard their entire lives to provide a good life for their children. She enjoyed reading, golf and her family. After she & Albert retired she especially enjoyed spending long days on her porch overlooking Lake Conroe watching nature and reading a good book with a hot cup of coffee.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Albert H. Meyer, son Mason C. Meyer, daughter Toy Michelle Meyer, Parents Jim Lee & Louis Pruitt, Sisters, Ella Buttery & Valerie Thompson and stepson Peter Johnson.
