Such great memories of being with you in 'Jannettes and getting to see you at the high school reunions through the years.  Looked at every one of the photos here.  What a full and wonderful life.  

My best memory of you in when you roller skated on the So Ho stage for the Jannette Spring Show.  I hadn't known you were a skater.  One of your many talents!!

Madge and I were competitors in high school track...  (smile) she ALWAYS came in FIRST and I always came in THIRD.  We were both redheads with blue eyes, her hair cropped and cute, mine was always long.  I will ALWAYS remember that smile!

Mrs. Crumpler was my favorite teacher in high school. I was on both the newspaper and yearbook staffs from sophomore to senior year, so I got to spend a lot of time under her wing. One of my favorite memories was seeing a row of yearbook photos that were leaning up along the window frame between the classroom and the dark room. She had taken a magic marker and was fixing the photos (turning a spaghetti strap into a tank top, for example) so the students could still have their photos in the year book. She didn't have to do that - she certainly already had a ton on her plate. But she did it out of the kindness of her heart because that was the kind of person she was. Mrs. Crumpler was a class act, full of patience and grace. My deepest condolences to her family.

When someone asks who my favorite teacher was growing up or had the most influence; it was definitely Mrs. Crumpler in the photojournalism class. She touched so many young minds - so many happy memories so it's hard to hear that she is no longer with us. The world lost a beautiful soul. Hugs to everyone who also loved her.

I worked with Madge at SoHo. She was an incredible person who add energy to any gathering. I’m sorry for your loss. 

Words cannot convey how much Madge meant to me.  She helped me grow up in several stages in my life.  She was the yearbook teacher when I was photographer.  I can remember seeing her going through the proofs with Def Leppard on her Walkman.  Later, when I became a teacher at South Houston, she helped this struggling teacher find his way.  When I lost my mom, she was there, including the funeral.  She helped me become involved with UCA to help keep me busy.  She was there when I got married, and when I had my first child.  She continued to check on me on Facebook through the years.  Like all of her students, she was there for me.  And I'm going to miss her.  My prayers are with her family during this difficult time.  

Interesting observation, the first post I saw was addressed to Mrs. C. My endocrinology appointments have always been noted as Dr. C. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. My prayers for comfort as you mourn the loss of such a beautiful lady. 

Mrs. C as she was affectionately called by her “kids”. We were the ones lucky enough to have her as a teacher also a cheer coach, sponsor, leader, friend, and most importantly a 2nd mom. Although physically she only brought two children into this world, she helped nurture so many more. If it weren’t for her kind generous huge loving heart, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Mrs. C you are one of the few whom I give thanks and will always have a special place for you in my heart. Chuck, Doug, and Kim may GOD bless you and your family during this difficult time.

Mrs. Crumpler, 
Several years ago I had the pleasure of reconnecting with you to tell you again how your love and encouragement as my journalism teacher at SoHo saved me and gave me a life I never would have had otherwise. You took a shy girl with a love for words and encouraged me to try out for the editor-in-chief job my senior year. I wrote about what I knew -- the loss of a treasured family home and a lot of memories -- and won the job. I was scared, completely insecure, and green as the spring grass. You coached me through the typesetting machine process with its quirks and formulas, held me when I cried because a deadline was coming and no one was turning their stuff in on time, and reminded me that I could, in fact, do the job. It was my springboard to a college degree and a career in journalism and editing, skills I have used for more than 35 years now. Thank you for caring about your students. May peace always be with you. Safe travels, Mrs. C. 

Mrs. Crumpler,
You were everything to me and literally a second mom for 3 of my 4 years at Humble High School. 
You were my light when I was in so much darkness and my hope when not many others believed in me. That is why I shared so many late nights with you at the school ensuring my work was done.
Youd be happy to know I am still a yearbook editor at my school. I never stopped!
Not a person Ive met that didnt know about you and I will continue to tell them all about you so your legacy will carry on. 
I wish nothing but peace as you rest. Please give hugs to my mom when you unite with her in the heavens.

I first had Mrs Crumpler as a teacher in junior high school at  Park View intermediate But the true pleasure was being one of her cheerleaders at South Houston high school. She was such a role model a true teacher and an amazing cheerleading sponsor.  Im blessed to have been One of her students!

To Doug—My heart hurts for you and your entire family. I know all too well the massive and important role the mother of a diabetic child plays in his or her life. I never met your Mother, but I am sure that like all mothers she worried, stewed, cried, got angry at God for doing “this” to her little boy (even when you were no longer little) and traveled with you throughout all the ups and downs of T1D. My prayers are with you, Kelley, your boys and the rest of your family.

I remember seeing Madge at Harris County journalism workshops, Taylor workshops, UIL and other journalism get togethers.
She always was so sweet, polite, a real lady.
We are saying good bye to a great one.

I am so sorry to hear of Madge's passing.  I met Madge in 7th grade at South Houston Intermediate. We then continued on to South Houston High School where I also met Chuck.  We had such fun together and I will always remember her with great joy. Sending prayers to her family during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Crumpler's family, friends, and other students-- I was fortunate enough to meet her as a student at Humble High School. She taught the first photography class of my life and put me on a path to become who I am today. She was a tireless champion for her students and believed in my talent and dedication to photojournalism. She's the reason I studied Photography and Journalism in college and one of the single greatest influences in my life. I will honor her memory always, and I am so grateful for her leadership, compassion, and encouragement. She meant the world to so many of her students-- she absolutely changed the worlds of those of us lucky enough to have known her.

Sending my deepest condolences and prayers to Madge’s sweet family. As a sophomore drill team and journalism student at South Houston High, I looked up to Madge when she was Jannette officer and a member of the newspaper/yearbook staffs. (She was a senior that year.) Many years later I was blessed with our paths crossing again when we both were journalism teachers in Pasadena ISD. Madge was an outstanding teacher and made a positive difference in many lives.
