Maria Del Rosario Garza

Maria Del Rosario Garza, 63, died peacefully at her home in League City, Texas, on Sunday, July 13, 2014. She was surrounded by loved ones as she passed from this earthly life into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Maria was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on January 5, 1951 to the late Melico and Alejandra Garza.

She was married to Jose (Joe) Garza on December 19, 1971 in San Jose, California.

Maria started her career in education in 1968 in San Jose, California as an Elementary Clerk. In 1982, she and her husband, Joe, moved to Texas to raise their three beautiful children. In 1985, Maria started working for Clear Creek ISD as a bilingual paraprofessional. Maria loved working with young children. She retired in 2009 after working 24 years with the district.

Maria’s main focus in life was the love she had for God, her family and her friends. She was a loving, smiling, helping presence in the lives of everyone who met her. She loved, oh, how she loved!!

Maria is survived by her husband Joe; son, Alejandro L. Garza (Melissa); twin daughters, Marizza G. Bowman (Daniel) and Melizza G. Albano (Tony); grandchildren, Alexis & Avery Garza, Ian & Evan Bowman and Isabella Maria Albano; sister, Olivia (Robert) Schaff and brother, Javier (Elsa) Garza; nephews, Robert & Ryan Schaff, Javier Garza and niece, Lauren Garza.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to the anonymous donor that made Maria’s trip to the Vatican come true earlier this year. Without you, this would have only been a dream.
