Maria A. Olivares Sanchez

Maria was a devout Catholic who spent many years of her life helping others by volunteering and teaching. Soon after completing High School in Alice, she went to nursing school in Corpus Christi, Texas. She worked as an LVN at St. Joseph’s and Bentaub hospital. Later, Maria worked as a teacher’s aide and substitute nurse at Cornelious Elemnetary. She was a volunteer and taught Sunday School for many years at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Armando Sanchez. Armando and Maria are the parents of three adult daughters, Sabina, Renee and Manda.They are also the grandparents of one grandson and two granddaughters.

Her oldest daughter, Sabina, is married to David Vargo. Renee Sanchez and Anthony Rincon, who are the parents of her grandson, Sev Moises. Manda Escorcia and Eruvey Escorcia have two daughters, Makayla Grace and Hannah Camille.

We, the family, would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers for our mother. We are especially grateful for our cousin and the niece of our mother, Maricela Jiron. She has been a blessing to us during this difficult time.
