Mary Alice Crider, age 89, adored mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to the arms of Jesus on 10/21/12. Born 10/15/23 in Batesville, AR, to Oscar White and Pearl (Hawkins) White Stephens, she spent most of her life in Beaumont, Houston, and Santa Fe, TX. She was married to E.W. Crider for 62 years and devoted her life to loving her husband and four daughters, Judy, Bonnie, Sherry and Kathy. Mary loved Jesus, her family, and all animals. She had great compassion for all living creatures. Even as Alzheimer’s stole her memory in her last years of life, she always remembered her girls. Mary never lost the ability to make every person she talked to feel that they were special and treasured. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Crider, her parents, and her only sister, Elizabeth. Mary is survived by her daughters, Judy and her husband Ronnie Butler, Bonnie Gardner, Sherry Young, and Kathy and her husband Bob Douglas; grandchildren Ryan Butler, Jennifer and Max Gardner, Ashley and Christopher Young, and Carly Danford Salinas and Clayton Danford as well as six great-grandchildren, Oliver, Elijah, Adrian, Isabella, Maxim, and Nathan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her memory to the James L. West Alzheimer Center, 1111 Summit Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76102.
