Mary Nitschke

Mary S. Nitschke, 90, of Houston, Texas, passed away January 8, 2017. She was born in Houston, Texas on January 1, 1927 to Anthony and Frances Serio. She was married to Harold Nitschke for 48 years. Mary spent her days as a homemaker, taking care of her family was very important to her.

She adored animals, especially cats. She took in any and all strays that crossed her path. She would make sure they had a warm place to sleep, a good meal and lots of love. She was proud of being a Texan and of Italian decent. Mary was of tiny stature, but had a huge personality. She was much loved and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by sons, Jack Bobbitt and Mike Ryan; grandson, Andrew Miesch, she outlived all of her siblings. She was the last of her immediate family.

She is survived by husband, Harold Nitschke; daughter, Mary Frances Wheat; grandchildren, Mike Ryan, Tammy Bobbitt, Kaitlin Miesch, MacKenzie Miesch, Robert Ryan, and Michelle Ryan, and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 13, 2017 11:00 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A Celebration of Life will start immediately after at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
