Mason Craig Meyer

Mason Craig Meyer, lovingly known as “Polar Bear,” passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 65. A resident of Friendswood, Texas, Mason was known for his quiet strength, competitive spirit, and unforgettable laugh.

A proud athlete, Mason played multiple sports at Richard King High School in Corpus Christi before graduating in 1978. Football was his passion, earning him a scholarship to Texas Lutheran College. He later transferred to Southwest Texas State University, completing his Bachelor of Arts in 1982 and graduating the following year from the university’s first Lawyer’s Assistant Program. He was also a proud member of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Mason built a distinguished legal career, beginning at Sullins, Johnston, Rohrbach & Magers as a paralegal. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 1987 and practiced both independently and with Sullins, Johnston, Rohrbach & Magers until retiring in 2023.

Beyond his accomplishments, Mason had passions that shaped his personal life—bowling, golf, fishing, playing fantasy football, cruising, and time near the water with those he cherished most. Those who knew him will remember a man who loved fiercely, worked diligently, and gave generously—often quietly, but always wholeheartedly.

Mason was preceded in death by his father, Albert Henry Meyer.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Connie; daughters Ashley (Michael) Buse and Morgan (John T.) Powell; grandchildren Cooper and Carli; his mother Katheryn Meyer; siblings Gray (Angele) Meyer and Paula (Robert) Henry; brother-in-law Lee Azopardi; nieces Callie, Katie, and Savannah, and nephews Daniel and Ben.

Family will receive friends from 1:00–2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas, with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Casual attire is suggested—Mason’s preference.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mason’s honor are appreciated to American Cancer Society, American Kidney Fund and Three Little Pitties Rescue, a local Friendswood animal rescue service.
