

Melba Thordean Campbell, 81, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on January 26, 2026. Thordean was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on August 27, 1944, to Melba Agnes Cassat and Thord Frank Luper. She was united in marriage with Edward Campbell for 51 years.
Throughout her life, she built a distinguished career in accounting with esteemed organizations such as First Baptist Church, First Victoria Bank, and Mr. Gatti's Pizza. Active in her community, Thordean was engaged with Aggie Moms, Communications for BellaVita, and several bridge clubs where her love for bridge flourished. Thordean also cherished her passions for reading, sewing, music, and playing the piano.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Graham; her parents, Thord Frank Luper and Melba Agnes Cassat; and her beloved husband, Edward Dwayne Campbell. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Kevin and Jennifer Campbell, and Darrell and Angie Campbell; her cherished grandchildren: Justin, Lauren, Trace, Carson, and Ian Campbell; her brothers: Dale Alvin Luper, Herman Earl Luper, and Jerry Don Luper; her sister, Donna Sue Ross, along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located in Webster, Texas, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 am.
