

Mike J. Bocco Jr., a life-long resident of League City, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 2, 2018. Mike was born on July 12, 1925 to Italian immigrants Mike Bocco, Sr. and Katie Galfione Bocco. Mike was married to his loving wife, Mattie for 51 years and to his second wife, Janine for 16 years. Mike was a hard-working man that took pride in everything he did and always did everything to the best of his ability. He worked as a grounds man, a heavy machine operator for Moody Farrow Construction and as a carpenter for GH&H Railroad. After Mike retired he loved spending time working in the yard, raising a vegetable garden, and loved being with his family. Mike was very friendly and always had a story to tell. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Church of Christ for 70 years.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mattie, and brothers, Lawrence, Joe, Louis, and Johnny.
He is survived by his wife, Janine and her daughter, Domino Mitchell; daughter, Sylvia Rice; granddaughter, Amanda Rice; grandson, Casey Rice; great-granddaughter, Kiana Henderson; great-grandson, Brandon Henderson; brother, Tony Bocco; sister-in-law, Madeline Bocco and many nieces and nephews as well as cousins in Italy.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Janine’s family and friends are invited to a separate visitation on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at League City Church of Christ, 1801 E. Main Street, League City, Texas 77573.
