Philip Clark Young, beloved son, brother and friend left this world much too soon on February 18, 2013. There were none better. Phil was born on July 16, 1963 in Meridian Mississippi. He graduated from McGraw Central High School in 1981, entered the Navy and became a Nuclear Reactor Operator. He served on the USS Long Beach and traveled around the world several times. After leaving the Navy, Phil earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo and became an accomplished, well respected Engineer with Ineos, USA in Alvin, TX. Phil was dearly loved by all who knew him. His sense of humor and laugh were infectious and his integrity unsurpassed. Phil especially loved his toys; his motorcycle, four wheeler, truck and guns, and had recently become an accomplished ammo “reloader”. One of his greatest joys was riding with his motorcycle guys the “Midlife Cycles”. They took several tours each year to some beautiful (twisty-turny) places. Phil also enjoyed hunting on his beloved deer lease where he could easily have lived in his new deer blind, the Taj Mahal of all deer blinds, he built last year. Phil always had a project in the works, explaining it with joy to all who would listen. Never down, Phil was an inspiration to all who knew him with boundless energy and enthusiasm for life. He will be greatly and sorrowfully missed. Phil is survived by his parents, Wayne and Mary Young of Daytona Beach, Fla., sister Penny, niece and nephew Dillon and Julia Massey of Pearland, TX and his paternal grandmother Margaret Young of Englewood, Fla. Along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 2, at 12:30 pm, at Forrest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, TX.
In lieu of flowers, Phil would have appreciated support and donations be made to the NRA.
