Phillip Barrera

Phillip Barrera, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017. He was born in Hearne, Texas on February 19, 1942 to Jesus and Josefa Barrera. He was married to Tammy Barrera for 46 years. Phillip had a career in telecommunications for Southwestern Bell and AT&T.

Phillip loved his family very much. He was an avid lover of the game of golf since he was a young boy. Come September you can find him rooting on his cowboys, Dallas Cowboys that is. He was also very proud of his country.

He was preceded in death by parents, Jesus and Josefa Barrera; brothers, Seferino Barrera, Cruz Barrera, Peter Barrera and Chris Bentiez; sisters, Anna Barrera, Natividad Barrera and Augustina Barrera.

He is survived by Wife, Tammy Barrera; son Phillip Paul Barrera and wife Carrie; grandson, Taylor Barrera; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Barrera; brothers, Tony and Louis Barrera and a host of Nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. The Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 9, 2017 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 11011 Hall Road, Houston, Texas 77089. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
