Robert Glenn Holtkamp, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, in Conroe, Texas. Born on April 7, 1956, Robert spent his life in Texas, where he built not only a career, but a legacy of dedication, quiet humor, and unwavering love for his family.
A proud journeyman, Robert earned his Associate Degree in Electrical Technology and built a career defined by hard work, often taking on long 12-hour shifts while still making time for the people who mattered most. Whether helping with Cub Scouts or volunteering as a North Shore band parent, Robert always showed up — with a tool in hand, a joke on his lips, and a heart ready to serve.
Robert had a dry sense of humor and a deep sense of loyalty. He was a man who loved fiercely — especially his wife, Kathi, whom he cherished and protected with steadfast devotion. He was endlessly proud of his two sons, William and Brian, both of whom hold doctorates in Computer Science. His greatest joy came from being “Grandpa” to his grandchildren: Owen Robert, Ella Rose, and Brielle Luna, who lit up his world.
Robert found peace in nature, whether fishing, birdwatching, or woodworking in the garage. He had a lifelong love of NASCAR — especially watching Bill Elliott race — and filled many family vacations with long road trips to races, making joyful detours through New Mexico and Oklahoma. One of his proudest moments in recent years was celebrating retirement by taking his entire family to an Alice Cooper concert — a memory treasured by all who were there.
Though baptized Lutheran and an altar boy in his youth, Robert’s faith was quiet and personal. He lived his values through his actions — selfless, steady, and always there for those in need.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife of over four decades, Kathi Holtkamp; his sons William Holtkamp (wife Monica) and Brian Holtkamp (wife Britney); his cherished grandchildren Owen, Ella, and Brielle; and his brother, Lance Holtkamp (wife Mona). He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A funeral service will start at 10:00 am with a committal service to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
