He was married to his devoted wife Gloria for 60 years. He served in the US Army. Sammie retired from Cemex.
In his free time, Sammie enjoyed fishing, coaching baseball, and growing fruit trees. More than anything, Sammie loved to spend time with his family.
His parents Warner and Clare Mize preceded him in death and his sister, Robbie Lindsey.
Left to cherish Sammie’s memory are his loving wife Gloria, children: Daryl (Teresa), Norman (Kristin), and Deeann (Chuck) along with five grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
