On December 30,2024 Marilyn Sue Bailey a long-time resident of League City, Texas passed away peacefully at her home where she had lived for the past 53 years. On July 27, 1948, she was born to Roy and Rose Mary Loosmore in LaPorte, TX. Sue was the second of three children; she was close with her older brother Roy Gene (Bubba) and little sister Annette. After several family hardships and illnesses at a young age, Sue went to live with her Aunt Jenny and Uncle Clayton Lyons. At that time, they moved to Vidor, TX and resided there through her formative years. Despite the distance between La Porte and Vidor, Sue maintained a strong bond with her siblings. Sue’s childhood was filled with dance, travel, annual trips to Disney and numerous cousins. Sue loved dance and her cousin Harold Windham was her partner for several years. While living in Vidor, Sue met Linda Kerr, and they became best friends for life. Roy Gene (Bubba) and Annette were with her through all things and beside her no matter what through life.
September 15, 1971, Sue married the love of her life George Bailey. The two had been married for 50 years. They had two children, Ray and Matt whom “hung the moon” in her book. She was the matron of her neighborhood. Sue’s door was always open for all neighbors, especially the kids. Through the years she gained a daughter on the neighbors’ side, Heather Hope Hailey and later another son Russell Walker. Sue and George carried on the annual family trips to Disneyland which Heather attended every summer as well. Sue was happiest with a house full of family and friends cooking and reminiscing about the good ole days. Sue eventually had Uncle Clayton and Aunt Jenny move into her home so the family could unite as one. When grandchildren Shelby, Emy, and Myles came along, she thought they hung the moon and stars. Sue and George raised their children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren together, teaching them about love, laughter, cooking and all things family.
Sue passionately loved with a borderline obsession all things Elvis. Graceland became another frequented spot for vacations. She was an avid movie collector, who would always win in a game of movie trivia. For many years she was the family’s own private blockbuster. You could find her in the evenings watching the Astros or classic movies with her family.
Proceeded in death by her Mother Rose, Father Roy, Uncle Clayton, Aunt Jenny, nephew Timothy Gallaway, brother Roy Gene (Bubba), nephew Beaujames Loosmore, and husband George along with other beloved family members.
Survived by her Sister Annette Vining, Sister in-law's Leann Loosmore, Sue King, Hope Bailey, Son Ray Black and wife Cori, Granddaughter Shelby Black and partner Jacob Casarez, Granddaughter Leianni and Grandson Nathan Delgado, Great Grandsons Ty Casarez and Landon Delgado. Son Matt Bailey and partner Jessika Jaramillo, Granddaughter Emy Bailey and partner Mason Anderson, Grandson Jonathan and Seth Carr, Granddaughter Elena Jaramillo, and Grandson Devin Myles Bailey. A special thank you to nephew Ranger Porter, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.
A memorial service for Sue will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
