Weldon Wesley Miles

Weldon Wesley Miles, 88, of Crosby, TX passed away March 12, 2018. Weldon, nicknamed “Pill”, beloved son of William Westley and Mary (Freeman) Miles was born in Ballinger, TX on Sept. 15, 1929. He met and married his beloved wife, Lillian Elizabeth (Nelson) Miles and she preceded him in death after 50 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Ballinger, TX, raised on a farm, then joined the US Army. He became in profession, a skilled Tile Setter and Insulator belonging to The International Association of heat and frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union until he retired.

Weldon and his beloved wife, Lillian, married and resided in Texas raising their children and were members of the Baptist faith. He was a devoted husband and father working hard to provide for his family. He was a very humorous man, which loved to make people laugh. He also loved playing the harmonica, fishing, bowling, painting, and was very skilled in crafting things out of wood, metal and stain glass. He got great pleasure of being able to give the things that he made to his loved ones.

Preceded in death by wife, Lillian Elizabeth (Nelson) Miles; parents, William and Mary Miles; brothers and sisters, Juanita Colvin, Bertha Davis, Charlie Miles and Cody Miles; grandson, Allen Wesley Haynie; first wife, Roetta Burk. He is survived by sister, Louise Martin who resides in Pasadena, TX.

Weldon and Lillian had six children, Thomas Branham and wife, Nancy Branham (deceased) of Houston, TX; Linda Prestriedge and husband Glen Prestriedge of Huffman, TX; Kaihley (Cathy) Reiner and husband Mike Reiner of Phoenix, AZ; Laura Carden and husband David Carden of Willis, TX; La Donna Guillotte and husband Pat Guillotte of Crosby, TX; Lesa Haynie and husband Allen Haynie of Pasadena, TX.

Weldon and Lillian had 27 grandchildren, Craig, Shanie, Dawn, Emma, Antonio, Tad, Tracey, Brandy, Lisa, Christie, Jennifer, Rob, Cory, Meghan, Taylor, Emil, Coy, Chris, Jonathan, Amber, Lieren, Allen Gene, Michael, Amber, Emily, D’Anna and Allen Wesley.

Weldon and Lillian had 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the state of Texas.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX, 77598 at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor John Mark Benson of Sagemont Baptist Church will be officiating the service. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jonathan Guillotte, Tracey Land, Coy Carleton, Shanie Stokes, Allen Gene Haynie and Michael Haynie.
