Born on May 10, 1933, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Wesley and Letha (Keck) Ruzek, Wesley lived a life defined by gentle strength, dedication, and deep love for those around him. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and remained a member of the American Legion. In 1961, Wesley married the love of his life, Nancy Ruzek, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2015. Their partnership was a cornerstone of his world.
A true master gardener, Wesley took immense joy in nurturing his plants and generously sharing his expertise with friends and neighbors. He also carried a lifelong passion for sports, always watching with keen interest. He loved rooting on his beloved OSU Cowboys, who, according to Wes, were bound to lose every game. Known for his stoic demeanor and unwavering reliability, Wesley was a man of steadfast principles who valued genuine integrity. Above everything else, family was his greatest treasure. He took tremendous pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren, offering quiet support and unconditional love.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; his cherished wife, Nancy; and his brother, Jon. He is survived by his daughter Nanet Ruzek; his son, Michael Ruzek and wife Stephanie; and his grandchildren, Ryan and Catherine.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service, both at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery in Webster.
Wesley’s legacy of quiet dignity, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him, especially his loving family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Wes’s memory are invited to make contributions to The Covenant Fund at The Crossings. www.mrcaff.org/giving
