Whitney Paul, a noted NFL star of the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints football teams, passed away peacefully at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 72. He was born on October 8, 1953, in John Sealy Hospital, Galveston, Texas, to the late Harold Paul, Sr. and Geneva Broussard Paul. He was the brother of the late Harold Paul, Jr. of Houston, Texas and Peggy Paul of New Iberia, Louisiana.
Whitney cherished a life defined by simplicity and hard work. He didn't plan everything; he believed all was God's plan. He enjoyed being around funny people, which always made him laugh. Christmas marked his proudest family moments, while his career achievements included supporting his family through his success in the NFL. He hoped that others learned to be kind and nice always from him.
Whitney was an All-American Discus Thrower in high school, a notable memory for many. His favorite color was red, and he enjoyed pastimes such as golf and studying, especially reading. Whitney loved people and wanted to be remembered as an easy-going guy.
He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and were touched by his kindness and simplicity.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Mr. Paul's life will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, January 9, 2025, at Old Central Cultural Center, located at 2627 Avenue M, Galveston, Texas 77550.
