
Born on the 10th of October 1936 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Albert and Adeline Roberson, he was the beloved husband of Grace (Viera) Roberson , father of Lisa (Mrs. Martin Hardy) and grandfather of Alexander Hardy.
Francis was one of nine children, and moved to Raynham, Massachusetts with his family at the age of 8. His pre deceased siblings are brothers Albert, John, Donald, and Patrick, and sisters Mona, Claire, and Margaret. His surviving sister is Mrs. Linda Conlon of Plymouth, MA.
Francis attended Bristol County Agricultural School and worked on several farms as a young man before enrolling in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a Petty Officer working on the flight decks of four aircraft carriers, and was honorably discharged in 1959.
Francis, Grace, and Lisa moved to Wellfleet in 1975, where he worked as an oil burner technician for 40 years, retiring from HH Snow’s in Orleans in 2011.
Francis had many good friends and neighbours, and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He was an avid carpenter, designing and building five houses, and an excellent cook, barbecuing in any weather and willing to try any recipe.
Francis also enjoyed travelling, and with Grace had visited many places throughout the US and Europe.
Burial arrangements are being made by Nickerson Funeral Home of Orleans and will be announced at a later date.
