
His beloved wife of Dorothy Raymond to whom he was married for over sixty years survives him, as do his two children Fred E. Olson of North Truro, MA and Robert Olson and his wife Barbara of Wellfleet, MA. He was grandfather to Jack R. Olson and Tess J. Olson of Wellfleet, MA. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
Born in Danbury, CT to Frederick R. Olson and Josephine (Cromwell) Olson, he attended local schools and earned a BA from the University of Hartford. His sisters Marion Gingell, Jean Beddows, and Virginia Edwards predeceased him.
A World War II veteran, he served in the Third Army Company A, 503rd Military Police Battalion assigned to General George S. Patton’s Headquarters. He enjoyed yearly reunions with former members of his unit. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Danbury, CT.
He worked for the Barden Corporation for thirty-five years as a quality control engineer and supervisor. He was a member of the Danbury Musicians Union for twenty-five years.
His hobbies included music, gardening, history, and his workshop.
