Anne Gretchen Case

Anne was born in Montreal, Quebec, on October 10, 1939. She spent her early years in Montreal before moving to Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the age of 17. It was there that she met the love of her life, Charles Case. Anne and Charles were married in 1957 and later made their home in Toronto, where they built a life together, raised their family, and shared a devoted partnership that lasted until her passing.

Anne’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and steady presence brought comfort and happiness to those around her. She was also an active and cherished member of her faith community at St. Dunstan’s of Canterbury Anglican Church and enjoyed the fellowship and friendships she found through several community walking groups.

With her natural organizational skills and thoughtful attention to detail, Anne helped bring people together and made those shared outings even more enjoyable. Over the years, Anne and her walking friends explored countless trails from Niagara Falls to Port Hope, sharing fresh air, conversation, and companionship along the way. These walks brought her tremendous happiness and were among the most joyful and cherished years of her life.

Anne will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family and faith, her natural organizational skills, and the care she extended so naturally to others. Her life was a beautiful example of love, grace, and quiet strength, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Anne is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Case, and by her children: Michael Case, father of Stephanie and grandfather of Jameson, Elton, and Christien; Catherine Goodwin and her spouse, David, parents of Christopher Goodwin, Jessica Goodwin, and Julie Goodwin, and grandparents of Tenley, Violet, Aurora, and Grayson; Victoria Case; Barbara Case; and Linda Bryson, mother of Jeffrey Bryson and Alex Bryson.

Anne was predeceased by her beloved grandsons, Christopher and Andrew.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Yee Hong Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided to Anne in her final days.

Anne’s love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Though she will be dearly missed, the memories she created, the kindness she shared, and the love she gave so freely will remain a lasting comfort and blessing.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
