Billy R. Persram passed peacefully in his sleep at Scarborough’s Centenary Hospital at the age of 84, joining loved ones in his new home with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Born in Guyana on March 24, 1942, Billy was the second youngest of 10 children. He immigrated to Canada in 1968 and spent the remainder of his life in the Greater Toronto Area. He proudly served his community as a Metro Toronto police officer for over four decades before retiring in 2019 at the age of 77.
Billy was also a brilliant mechanic, a loving father, and a devoted husband. He was an active member of his community and enjoyed singing with the choir and attending Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Billy was preceded in death by many of his siblings, his son Gary, and his wife, Feiza. He leaves behind his children, Rae and Debbie; his sister, Vita; daughter-in-law, Joelle; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Scarborough Centenary Hospital will be appreciated by the family.
