Claudette was born in Cape Town, South Africa to Sharon and Gerald Ross on June 9th, 1970. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and sister Michelle when she was seven years old. Growing up in Scarborough, Claudette loved participating in track and field, choir and dance. She always saw South Africa as home with lifelong friends there and visited many times throughout her life. She gave birth to her son Kyron in 1997, and Kyron became a father to Rhea in 2022. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her son Kyron and her granddaughter Rhea.
Claudette loved music especially Bon Jovi and Mariah Carey. She loved to go fishing and being outdoors soaking up the sun. Claudette was always up for an adventure and had a zest for life. She was a big fan of Christmas time and she loved spreading holiday cheer. Other than Christmas movies, romantic comedies and novels were her favourite and she even obtained her wedding planners license so she could be just like her twin JLo.
Claudette was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, and after treatment entered remission. In 2020, the cancer returned and metastasized to her bones, eventually spreading to her brain in 2023. She fought a long and hard battle and passed away at home with her son Kyron and family.
Claudette is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon. She is survived by her son Kyron and his girlfriend Melissa, granddaughter Rhea, sister Michelle, niece Alisha, nephew Kaiden and father Gerald.
