Danny is predeceased by a sister, Winnifred. Surviving are his brothers Arthur and Keith, sisters Thelma, Joyce and Iris. Darnley leaves three daughters Ancilla Miller (Tim Miller), Joy and Joanne Gooding, grandsons Tim, Che and Kobie along with, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Danny will be remembered for his work as a photographer to many in the Caribbean community in the 70’s, as the co-founder of Spear Magazine, Canada’s first magazine for the black community and the vision behind Miss Black Ontario. Darnley went on to study woodworking and relocate in Barbados. While there he operated antique and craft shops at Pelican Village and on Bay Street. He also worked as an instructor at the Barbados Vocational Training Board teaching young people to become woodwork artisans as a pathway to a better life for themselves.
Danny was a visionary who led an interesting and creative life. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.
