Born the second youngest of six children to Jean and Garnet Walt on June 26th, 1947, he spent his childhood growing up on the family farm. His mother, a schoolteacher, instilled within him from a young age the importance of education, and he in turn encouraged his children to better themselves, be knowledgeable, to always value quality over cost, and to follow their dreams, making sure to be there for them every step of the way.
Dennis was blessed with two great loves in his life, his wife of 38 years, Mary Jane, whom he now rejoins in eternity. Together they welcomed two children into the world, son Kevin and daughter Cheryl (Ron). He found love again with Lorna, and with her family; Her daughter Laura (Marco) and their children, Ethan and Anthony, and he doted on them as any grandfather would.
Dennis will be fondly remembered as an involved father and husband, not only showing his love with words but with actions as well. He was a hard working loyal man who did everything in his power to ensure his family was provided for. He enjoyed travelling, watching sports, coaching, camping, duck hunting, and fixing computers. Whenever we had a problem, the wisest man on Earth was only a phone call away, and there was never a problem he couldn’t solve.
There never was anyone quite as special to us as Dennis, and words cannot express how deeply his loss is felt and how much we miss him. Take care, Dad. Be good.
