Predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Frank Lane; beloved mother to Frank (Karen) and Patty (Seán); grandmother to Samantha, Frank, Kathy, Danny, John and Liam and great-grandmother to Leah, Brandon, Isabelle and Nathan.
Doris was born in Toronto, her parents Charles and Elizabeth Green immigrated from Scotland and raised their family in Cabbagetown.
She had vivid memories of her childhood with her brothers; Tom, Charlie and Roy. Their home was the centre of many card games and songs sung by her "demonic rag-tag brothers".
Doris worked as a secretary for the Bakery Workers Union, Canadian Civil Liberties Association, Bank of Montreal and Scarborough Public Utilities Commision.
After retiring from the SPUC in 1994, she and her husband Frank enjoyed trips to the U.S. and many new friendships at Ling Road.
She will be remembered by her friends from Cabbagetown, the Memoir Writing Group at Cliffcrest Library and the volunteers at Centenary Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E on Saturday, February 15 at 2 pm.
