Gloria Rose Johnson, a devoted servant of Jehovah and the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at Centenary Hospital in Scarborough, Ontario, at the age of 79.
Born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, to the late Ali Johnson and Violet Powell, Gloria was a woman of deep grace and spiritual resilience. Her life was defined by her unwavering commitment to her faith; for over 40 years, she was a familiar and welcoming presence in the field service, sharing the Good News with her community. In her later years, she reached a cherished milestone by becoming a pioneer, fulfilling a long-held desire to increase her share in the ministry and devote her full energy to the work she loved.
Gloria’s greatest joy was her family, whom she raised with the same strength and hope that guided her own life. She is survived by her six children: Marlin Rose Marsh, Peter Anthony Marsh, Suzzette Angela Marsh, Racquel Marie Marsh, Jeneva Lin Morris, and Damia Tanisha Henry.
Her legacy continues through her 13 cherished grandchildren: Freedom, Dwayna, Pierre, Gift, Sky, Jaden, Malique, Patience, Ojo, Petergaye, Dwayne, Tyler, and Celesmarie; as well as her two great-grandchildren, Jaden Jr. and William.
She now rests in Jehovah's memory, holding fast to the hope of the resurrection and the promise of John 5:28, 29: "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."
Gloria will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her worldwide brotherhood of spiritual brothers and sisters.
