Passed away peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Douglas W. McKitterick who passed on the same day in 2001. Loving Mother to her son Doug McKitterick and her daughter Charmaine and her husband Patrick Speers. Cherished grandmother to Kyle Speers and his wife Erika and Ashley and her husband Kenny Sneddon. Proud great-grandmother to Griffin Speers. Predeceased by her sisters Irene Binkley, Rose Bennett and Connie Hockley. Gloria was a longtime resident of Scarborough and retired employee of Scarborough General Hospital. Gloria will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, friends and family. Gloria was always dressed up and loved to wear brooches. It would make her happy if everyone would put their best suit or dress on along with a pretty brooch, even if you’re not going anywhere and think of her. Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, The Kidney Foundation or the Humane Society.
