Jane Marion Strizic

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jean Strizic (neé Leggat) on the early morning of August 5, 2024. Childhood sweetheart and beloved wife of Thomas for 62 years, a proud mother to Tom and Robert, a kind and supportive mother-in-law to Helen and Jessica, and a loving grandmother to Madison, Zackary, and Alex.

A long-time member of the Kinsmen and Kinettes, Jean was a pivotal member of their community, organising many fundraiser events, community fashion shows, and potlucks during her time with the club. She was a regular at the West Hill arena where you could find her every Saturday morning watching her sons, Tom and Rob - and eventually her grandson, Zack - play hockey. Jean was also a long time patron of children’s theatre, never missing one of her granddaughters’ Madison or Alexandra’s many musical theatre productions.

Jean is predeceased by her parents, Mary and James Leggat, mother and father in-law Theresa and Joseph Strizic and her brother and sister-in-law Joe and Nola Strizic. Jean will be missed by her brothers, Harvey and Neil; sister-in-law Jean; brother-in-law Miron and his wife Darryle; as well as her nieces and nephews: Jimmy, Kevin, Karen, Jodi, Scott and Janine.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Giffen Mack Funeral Home (4115 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough) on Friday August 9th; followed by interment at Highland Memory Gardens (33 Memory Gardens Lane, Willowdale)
