"Hello Sir!" that's how I usually greet Mr. Bancroft almost everyday at work... he would always give me a big smile. I was saddened when I heard about Mr. D. Bancroft's passing. A gentleman and a respectable person. I'm going to miss one of my best resident.

My sincerest sympathy to  Wendy and the whole Bancroft family. Your love and support for Dan was the reflection of how good he was as a husband, brother, uncle, grandfather and a father. You guys are the best! My love and prayers to all of you. I am sorry I was not able to pay respect to the legend but rest assure he will be in my prayers. I will miss seeing all your smiling face at work (warm hugs to all of you). It was an honor serving Mr. Bancroft. May his soul rest in peace.

"Dan", a long standing leader in the Barbadian-Canadian community, was an outstanding public servant, faithful "ambassador" for his native home, Barbados, "consul-general" (at Toronto) before the office existed, philanthropist, and friend.

His Christian witness and Barbadian upbringing informed the way he touched and influenced all who knew him.

Marc and Luke will always remember their many visits, as little boys, to Mandarin with "Uncle Dan".

I am deeply saddened by Dan's passing and extend my sincerest condolences to his entire family.  Dan will always be remembered for the many lives he touched and his love for Barbados and all Barbadians. It was his encouragement and long chats which led me to forming The Barbados Nurses Assoc. in Toronto.  I will always remember him fondly.  May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Michael, Wendy and families: It was with great sadness that we heard the news of your Dad and Grand Dad- our Uncle Dan's passing. Though a great loss, he has left us with a richness of memories - from childhood right through to our adult years. From being our Santa Claus to the many family gatherings, outings and activities he organized when we were kids to sitting discussing Canadian and Bajan politics as an adult. I was always proud to identify as Dan Bancroft's nephew when I met people who knew him and people who had been helped by him. Know that though he is gone, he remains with us and in us in many ways. Gone but not lost, out of sight but still in our hearts, minds and souls. Our lives brighter for having had him in them. Uncle Dan, you have gone to your well deserved rest. We will miss you always, love you forever, forget you never.

Uncle Dan, you will be greatly missed. Not only by me, but by our whole family, community, and city, as you did so much for all of the above in your lifetime. 

You have been an inspiration to me as you have contributed and accomplished so much in your lifetime. And you showed everyone that you can be determined and accomplished while sharing smile and a joke. 

Since, I’ve become a father, I often remember that you dressed up as Santa Claus for the family at Christmas time. Now that I’m a father, I look forward to following in your footsteps in this regard as well, and passing this on. 

It goes to show that you will live on through the big things and the seemingly small things that you did that made so many wonderful lasting impressing on all of us. We will eventually find solace knowing you left us better off because of you. 

And you left us when you were 91 years old. Why must you always set the bar so high. 
Oh, and say hello to Grandma, Granddad, Elwin, Uncle Ernest, and all the others for us. 💕

My most memorable moments of my grandfather is when  Carlitos and I visited or called Grandad, he would always greet us by saying "hello-hello!".
