Joseph Patrick Ward

Joe was an avid reader and loved learning. He kept up with current events, politics, and had a passion for soccer. He loved a good problem to solve, and wanted to understand the intricacies of everything, which made him the “go-to” for the family.

His real passion was photography, and a camera was always at the ready. Traipsing through the Ontario wood lands Joe was always looking to capture the perfect picture. As an active member of the Scarborough Camera Club for 50+ years [including a time as Club President], he continually developed and shared his passion.

Born in Scotland in 1925. In his late twenties Joe traveled to Canada, after he completed his engineering apprenticeship. For more than 30 years, he worked as an engineer on power generating plants in Canada and the United States for General Electric. He also taught statistics and probability at Humber College.

Joe will be missed by his daughter Teresa Ward, son-in-law Dan Dayus, granddaughter Danielle Occhiogrosso, her husband Frank Occhiogrosso, and his great grandson Leo. He is predeceased by his wife Georgina Ward.
