It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lucille Patricia Harris, affectionately known as “Patsy,” of 902-3010 Lawrence Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, who was called to rest on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Patsy was the beloved daughter of the late Ivan Harris and the late Mavis Harris of Georgetown, Guyana.
Her Education and Career
Patsy received her secondary education at Charlestown Secondary School in Georgetown, Guyana. With a keen interest in accounting, she continued her studies in Accounting at the Guyana Technical Institute (GTI) and subsequently attended the University of Guyana.
Patsy later joined the Office of the Prime Minister, where her dedication and commitment to her profession were recognized. During her time there, she was awarded a scholarship to further her studies in Accounting at Birmingham University in London, England. This opportunity was an important milestone in her educational and professional journey.
Upon returning to Guyana, Patsy continued to build her career in the financial sector. She was employed at the Guyana Agricultural and Industrial Development Bank (GAIBANK), where she served as a Financial Manager. In this position, she applied her knowledge and experience in accounting and finance with dedication and professionalism.
After several years of service, Patsy resigned from her position and made the decision to migrate to Canada, beginning a new chapter in her life. Upon settling in Canada, she continued her career in the financial services sector and was employed by CIBC as a Student Loan Officer.
Throughout her professional life, Patsy demonstrated a strong commitment to education, accounting, finance, and service.
