Born on July 10, 1936 in Estonia to Berta and John Kivirahk. Maie lived a life marked by a love of drawing, gardening, cooking and family. Maie having mastered 3 languages throughout her life time (Estonian, Swedish and English), enjoyed a love of reading and helping others. She showed deep kindness and a fierce love for family. Maie worked most of her career in various financial roles and companies.
Maie was predeceased by her beloved husband Julius of 58 years. She leaves behind her loving family, including her brother Jaak (Mary) Kivirahk, her son John (Emilia nee Marotta) Kulcsar and daughter Christine Benstead nee Kulcsar (Gordon) Benstead. Cherished by her three grandchildren Andrew (Nataly nee Cheung) Kulcsar, Emma Kulcsar (James Harris), Thomas Benstead (Krystal Jacques-Smith); and great grandchild Seth Kulcsar.
Visitations will be held at Giffen-Mack FUNERAL HOME located at 4115 Lawrence Ave. East ( Morningside and Lawrence) from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on October 31, 2026 on Saturday. A service will follow until 12:15 pm. Internment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery (Yonge St. and 407) in Thornhill at 2:30 pm.
