Mary Melissa Kidd Roth

Mary was born in Kingston Ontario, where she grew up with her mother Sarah “Sally” (deceased) and her brother Edward (deceased). Mary had a creative spirit and loved painting and crafts, often spending hours working on projects that brought colour and joy to her home. She especially loved Christmas, a time she filled with warmth, decorations, and thoughtful gifts. Her cats were her constant companions, and she found comfort and happiness in their company. She carried those passions with her throughout her life. She met her husband Lewis (deceased), whom she shared 49 years of marriage with — a partnership built on love, patience, and quiet strength. Together they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of everyday moments that become cherished memories.

She will now join her husband Lewis and her son Mark, where we’re sure her laughter and spirit will light up the party upstairs. She leaves behind her daughters Kim and Melissa, her grandchildren Ashley and Ryan, and her cats Shadow and Jupiter. She taught her family the value of kindness, the importance of showing up for one another, and how to find joy in simple things. Their accomplishments and their families were her greatest pride.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many caring individuals who supported Mary near the end of her journey. In lieu of flowers or memorial donations, and in honour of her spirit and her love for animals, donations can be made to the Toronto Wildlife Center.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held by the family at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation located at 4115 Lawrence Avenue East, West Hill Ontario:

Visitation will be Monday July 20th, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm

Service will be Tuesday July 21st,2026 at noon.

At a later date she will go to her final resting place in Kingston.

Mary was strong‑willed and spirited, with a quick wit and a warm heart. She faced life’s challenges with humour and resilience, always smiling and finding something to laugh about. Her kindness and creativity touched everyone around her, and her presence brought comfort and joy to those she loved. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary’s heart and spirit will live on in the people and places she loved.
