It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rainer Schmidt at age 88.
Rainer will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 68 years, Hannelore (Lore) Schmidt as well as many friends, neighbours and trumpet students.
Born in Germany, Rainer was an avid skier and an extremely well-known, respected musician and teacher. His trumpet and flugelhorn have been heard around the world in all styles of music and many of the top trumpet players in Toronto consider it a privilege to have been taught by him.
As per Rainer’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no services.
