Passed away suddenly at home on June 10, 2015 while resting from chores. Predeceased by daughter Carol . He is survived by his wife Ann, son Richard (Michelle), daughter Diane (Dennis Bockus), sister Mitzi Whiteside, and brother Karl. We all miss him. He has been a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a good neighbor. Richard came to Canada from Austria as a young man. He met and married Ann in Vancouver, and they moved to their home in Scarborough in 1958, where they raised their children and formed bonds with neighbours. He worked for many years as plant manager at Dad’s Cookies in Scarborough, a job that he loved and a place where he made lifelong friends. Family and friends are welcome to attend a funeral service and reception at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Avenue E., Scarborough (one block west of Kingston Road) on Wednesday, June 17, beginning at 1:00 PM.
