The family of Robert (Bob) Hilliard of Scarborough are saddened to announce his passing on Friday, Oct.9, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Vilma Hilliard and his brother Mark. He is survived by his wife, Pam Hilliard and his children, Kristin (Bryan) and Ian. Beloved older brother to Sherri Crowe and Tim Hilliard (Estela). He will be missed by his sisters-in law Cathy Baumann (Edmund), Laura Green (Bill), Carol Lahn (Mike) and brother-in-law Paul Fryer (Liz). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Bob worked at Wrigley Canada for 35 years in purchasing, materials and logistics management. His work connections formed an important part of his life.
Family and friends were of prime importance to Bob. He coached his daughter’s soccer team and his son’s hockey team when they were younger. He was always a major supporter at dance recitals, Martial Arts exhibitions, Girl Guides and Scouting events. He was a volunteer leader at a Haliburton Scout camp which he really enjoyed. His fondest memories were at the family cottage when the kids were younger, especially when golf was involved. He remained connected with many school friends. He enjoyed travelling with Pam especially to destinations steeped in history, nature and good food. Bob will be remembered for his keen sense of humour and infectious laugh.
Bob was always sports minded; wrestling in high school, running, playing hockey over many years including the Dukes of Durham Hockey League and playing golf at any opportunity. He enjoyed birdwatching, especially with friends.
Sincere thanks to the staff of the Scarborough General Hospital Renal Dialysis program particularly at the Corporate Drive satellite clinic. Bob felt very connected to and supported by the staff and patients there. We are also grateful for the care and support he received from our family doctor, Dr Li and this year from the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Visitation will be held at the Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave E, West Hill on Friday November 6, 2026 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Dunstan of Canterbury Anglican Church, 56 Lawson Rd, Scarborough on Saturday November 7, 2026 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
Donations in lieu of flowers would be appreciated in Bob’s memory to The Scarborough Health Network-General Hospital (Kidney Program), the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or St. Dunstan of Canterbury Anglican Church (Scarborough).
