It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Rodrigo "Rudy" Abasolo, who entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on May 7, 1948, in Aringay, La Union, Philippines, Rudy lived a life characterized by quiet strength, loyalty, and deep love for his family.
He is now peacefully reunited in heaven with his cherished wife, Daisy Abasolo, with whom he shared 41 long, wonderful years of happy marriage until the very end. Their enduring bond and mutual devotion remain a shining example for all who knew them.
Rudy was a devoted and loving father to his three sons: John, Jeff, and Jerry, who were his greatest pride and joy. A sharp thinker with a keen mind and an observant nature, Rudy found great enjoyment in staying current with world events through the daily news, engaging his mind over a good game of chess, and spending lively afternoons testing his luck at the casino.
His warm presence, wisdom, and steadfast love will be profoundly missed by his family, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will take place at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave East, West Hill, ON, M1E2S2, CA, on September 6, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Maria Goretti Parish, 717 Kennedy Rd, Toronto, ON, M1K 3N8, CA, on September 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
